“…then the fearful mind can become the warrior’s mind….”

I was born and raised in Shasta County, California. I left at 18 leaving my small world behind.

While getting my BA in Dance at UC Irvine, I began my studies outside of school in Western Astrology and Yoga. I moved to NYC, where I danced professionally and lived a typical dancer’s life of no rest on a survival diet of ramen and coffee. In the intensity of New York, my over burdened mind fell into the quiet of Om Yoga Center, and a pivotal time in my life. Through a committed yoga and meditation practice I learned to feel my body’s subtle signals and began unearthing the magnitude of my health crisis. I had hit a wall on all levels of my being.

Eventually I woke up in the hospital to a doctor telling me I had an autoimmune disease and would be on pharmaceuticals for the rest of my life. Five days later I was home in Brooklyn, afraid to eat and on so many drugs I could barely walk up my stairs.

I faced a monumental life challenge : to heal myself. I gratefully realized, although initially painful, the job couldn’t be outsourced, it had to be insourced.

I’ve spent the last 25 years studying myself and many modalities of health, and sharing my insights with others. Relying fundamentally on the eight limbs of yoga, and with guidance from Hank Wesselman, Ruby Holladay, Barbara Stamis , Cindy Lee, Cari Woolcott and many others. I have been fortunate to work with, and learn from, a wide variety of healers -- some traditional and some that transcend labels.

On my spiraling path I continue to be a student of Yoga, meditation and Cha Dao, among other lines of wisdom. I love sitting with other people on their life journey– sharing wisdom, and providing reflection. Together through various practices we begin to remember our own innate wisdom.

I live in Laguna Beach with my family studying the stars, drinking tea and playing with my children.
