Tea and Prayer: A Living Practice
Tea and prayer writing is a commitment to showing up and sitting in the discomfort and beauty of being a messy human. There is a magic in clarifying our dreams by first realizing what blocks us. Letting go of these old, patterned stories in ceremony, with the help of living tea and a dose of compassion acts as a bridge to the field of possibilities. Please come ready to sit on the floor. Bring a journal and pens/colored pencils. We will write and rewrite our prayers to ourselves after tea meditation.
“If you are standing on one shore and want to cross over to the other shore, you have to use a boat or swim across. You cannot just pray, ‘Oh, other shore, please come over here for me to step across!’” To a Buddhist, praying without also practicing is not real prayer. -Thich Nhat Hanh
